Need some help here!

I'm not into Garand's at all but have a opportunity to purchase one so I'm debating. I've got some photos here of the rifle in question. The stock has lots of bumps and bruises but no cracks, bore is excellent and should be a good shooter. I have no knowledge of Garand's and don't want to buy a junker made up from parts or one of the ones that people bought a while back from a dealer that were basket cases! I've tried to take specific pictures that may help tell the story of this rifle.....maybe you fellows could help me out and give me a little info on this one!
A fair price to pay would be a rough ball park of ?????

Thanks for your help.

I will be out of internet range for the next couple of days so if I don't respond to a specific question, that's why. The rifle is not close to me so more info won't be available for some time but hopefully I've provided the necessary pictures.

I have a 41 Springfield that went across the pond . It has the same sticker but mine was rebarrelled in 66 by the Danish. Mine was valued at 1400 5 or 6 years ago. I'm no expert but I wonder if that rifle came in the same batch as mine in 1997

I believe this to be a M1 Garand out of Danish service.

Receiver appears to be 7 digits produced in the late 1943 timeframe.

Note: my mistake 6 digits ... can’t count. So 1941 is correct.

Value? Recently M1 Garands have been selling for $2k+

if you can get it for less than $1200 buy it and Run for the car :):):):)

$1500 still run for the car:):)

1800 and up think about it :);)

2000 and up are you rich

and Min get it looked over and get a new Recoil spring
Proper length is 19 3/4 to 20 1/4" when new.

and Only used Garand safe ammo

Danish issue , Nov 1943, stock looks to match the rifle receiver, rebarreled in 48 or 49, Winchester trigger guard. Loka like a typical issue M1 grand. Seems the going price it between $1500 and $2200...

"just having some fun" has it down as to where you should be fi the price is in those ranges.

The Danish military maintained very good technical control of their Garands. I've never found one with any significant rust or pitting and the barrels were all serviceable. The rifles have been in this country for 20 plus years and people have had the opportunity to mess with them over that time.

Incidentally, the Danish Garands were shipped here with bolts removed (at least the ones that Lever Arms got) which required that loose bolts be headspaced and installed in the rifles prior to sale. A now deceased friend spent a lot of time checking headspace on them.

"OG" means that the rifle went through Ogden Arsenal for inspection or rebuild at some point before it was shipped to Denmark. The paper sticker in the barrel channel is a targeting sticker that was used by the Danish military.
