How do you mount the Midwest Industries scope mount onto the AR180B? Do you just push the plunger up against the rear sight and then just put it overtop of the flat piece?

Thanks.

EDIT TO ADD: I was also wondering about the Stormwerkz stock adapters, when you install a new stock will it still stay on strong? I heard somewhere that when you put on the aftermarket mounts, the stock will be slightly weaker, is this true?

If you can't figure the mount out you shouldn't own guns. Yes, it just wedges onto the plate. The spring loaded plunger is just there to hold it in place until it is hammered on tighter by the recoil.

There is no weakness issue with the Storm Werkz stock adapters. They are bullet proof.

Bryce...did it occur to you that maybe he wanted to double check with someone who had done what he's about to do so he didn't #### it up?
People are a little high-strung tonight...

Black Bear, which adapter were you looking at? I have a new adapter coming out next week that will let you turn the factory stock into a folding unit like on the early AR-180's.

p.s. I should have pics by friday ;)

That would make the 180 alot more attractive to me - I saw pictures of SAS members with 180's as a kid in England, stocks folded. I think they were in Northern Ireland at the time.

I don't really want a folding stock for various reasons, I would rather have a fixed-type or possibly collapsable stock, I just want something different, main purpose is longer-range shooting. That's why in my previous thread I mentioned I would like to get something similar to the Magpul PRS, is there a stock like it that just mounts onto a tube?

BTW, the only reason I got the MI mount is b/c Wolverine had it in stock, nothing personal :D

I don't know for sure what it's called, but that's probably it, I'm talking about the tube for mounting collapsible stocks. The PRS fits onto a standard AR15 like how the factory stocks mount, it does not use a buffer tube so it would not be possible to mount onto an AR180B unless a specialized mount was manufactured for it. Do you know of any stocks similar to the PRS but that actually mount onto a buffer tube so that it would mount onto the 180? So far I have found VLTOR and that's it, but their Modstocks look pretty decent as far as a comftorable/stable stock for longer range shooting.....

Here is a peek at the new side fold adapter for the factory stock.
I will be putting them through anodise this weekend.

All AR15's use a buffer tube therfore all AR15 stocks use a buffer tube. you could probably mount a PRS using a carbine stock adapter but I'm not sure how it would look. Might need a custom jobby.

Ok, thanks for the info. You learn something new everyday on this site:D But ya, cosmetically it wouldn't look too good b/c there would be a gap between the stock and the actual rifle.....
