I was wondering if anyone with an older A-Bolt of the Medallion series, could give us a comparison with the later A-Bolt Micro Hunter series?

Obvious the cherry wood tip and the scroll work.
Is the wood stock any better etc?
Impressions?

Thanks in advance.............

Mine sure is nice, purchased in about 1987 - from SIR in the Peg'. :)

It's a Micro Medallion in .308. It is one of the few rifles I've never sold. The wood is nice, but I'm not sure it's any nicer than the stuff you see on the Hunters these days.

exact same rifles except for stock and finish, they will preform exactly the same. If you want more of a beater go with the micro, if you want a showy piece go with the the Medallion.

I have the Medallion in 300 wsm and the Micro hunter in .223. The finish on the Medallion has more shine to it and the barrel has the deep blue shine as well compared to the matt blue on the Micro Hunter. Both are really nice rifles can't go wrong with either.
