Mid 18th century colonial American cutlass

Here’s a mid 18th century colonial American cutlass sourced out of New York.
You can clearly see the split and sandwiched forge weld at the ricasso where the wrought iron tang is lapped onto the steel blade.
Just phenomenal to find in it’s original scabbard. I just wanted it for the scabbard mainly. To study and apply to my own work.
The cutlass is just an added bonus

That is very nice! I collect War of 1812 swords, so I know what you mean when trying to find original scabbards, be they iron or leather/brass.
