I bought a Mk 3 Browning HP in 2019 and sent it to Don Williams at The Action Works. His backlog was long and he started working on this in late May, 2022. Due to the time pressure from the import/transfer ban there was some stress in making sure it was completed on time for importation to Canada.

I chose his basic reliability package along with a trigger job, dehorning, mag well beveling, and stippled grips. The stock hammer and sear were exchanged for Cylinder and Slide components. He also tightened slide to frame fit. The grips are Craig Spegel Grips in Kingwood, with a spare Cocobolo set just in case.

The sights are Heinie Ledge Sights, with the front altered with Gold Line and serrated.

Originally I wanted DLC finish, but due to pressures I went with Cerakote, the positive spin is Cerakote can be done here if I ever wear out the finish.

Thanks to IRUNGUNS who helped me with previous custom projects. I received this pistol in July, before the announcement of the August 19 import ban.

The sad news is I had to cancel a 9mm CCO project with Heirloom Precision, a wise decision considering the August 19 ban.

I had Frank Pachmayer do one for me in the 1970’s and it took 18 month’s
Sent him a Brand new 72C series
Still have it, as he said he didn’t want to do another one
I wanted a Colt 45 done, he said “ you are Canadian “, so
I will do a High Power if you send me a new one

Wow!! One of the past masters of gunsmithing. I usually sourced my pistols in the USA so I would only have to pay for crossing the border one way. Some smiths refused to do work for Canadians, even with a third party importer to do the paperwork.
