midwest mlok handguard on a marlin

Doubt this belongs in the hunting rifles section, but can be moved there is mods insist.

This is designed for rifles with a nosecap. I ended up with a rifle with a barrel band and decided to try it out as a challenge. Needed to design an adapter that attaches at the barrel band screw point and clamps onto the magazine tube.

There it is inside the handguard.

Thoughts? (I expect at least some "get this travesty off the forum right now" )

I like the look and possible weight savings. My wallet says no, but I've been building a .357 msx lever gun that would probably love one of these as the old wood is bound for the trash can.
