I do not know if this has been covered before, but are Rock Island Armory MIG 22 rifles going to be available in Canada? It looks like AR, but apparently the mechanism is different. Could be a candidate for non-restricted.

Dont hold your breath on this,the rcmp classification suck.

The GSG 5 was a totally different mecanism from the MP5 and still prohib.

The Sig 522 same thing,prohib.

The MP15,same thing,restricted.

The list is long.
 
Canward is advertising the MIG 22 & MIG 22 Target in the latest issue of Access to Firearms. Actually I just googled it and Sporteque is carrying them, and lists them as non-restricted:

I saw that advertisement, too. Good to see another option on the market, though the price is a bit steep.

The JR Carbine, Ruger SR22, Mossberg 715 tactical, Remington 597 VTR are all non-restricted though, and the JR isn't even based off an existing non-restricted receiver/design like the others.
