.......but the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked right? Can you safely crimp factory loads that are not already crimped? To be more specific I am wondering if I can use my lee factory crimp die to crimp american eagle
.308 rounds. I am hoping this will make them more reliable in my ar feeding wise. What say you?
 
How will a tighter crimp help with feeding? Are they getting pushed in? Always curious about the problems and the reasons for the recommended solution.
 
I have inquired about it and did a bunch of research to verify this, but the crimping causes higher pressures creating more backpressure for the bolt. The round will eject better and the new round will ease in. Basically the bolt isnt going back far enough to fully eject the fired round.
