Nice peaceful wind free day at the 300 yard line, put my choate stock and Jewell trigger on since the last time out. Loaded 69 SMK over varget, found 26.2 to be a nice load.

Going to go .1 either way then play with seating depth. These are 2.260 OAL. what do ya think?

Thanks, also going to stay away from my hornady dispenser and go back to the scale and trickler.
I weigh all of my loads. I think the game of percision is fueled by consistancy. Consistant brass, bullets, and charge weight. Accentually we are trying to create consistant pressure. Assuming we have a load that the barrel likes I have over the years achieved a better level of percision by chasing consistancy by weight sorting bullets and brass. Neck turning brass,controling neck tension, primer pocket uniforming, flash hole deburing, even sorting bullets to their bearing surface using bullet comparaters has helped. No single step here makes a huge difference and at some point I have found myself in the diminishing returns territory but you add it all up and you can make some pretty consistant ammo. Once you have the tools to do this stuff it is only time, and I like time @ the reloading bench!
