I've had many different answers to this question that I think I'll post it here and see if we can hash this out. My son has his apprenticeship card and is ready to start hunting with me, does he also require the migratory permit and stamp or can he hunt under my permit adhering to my total birds harvested.

What province are you in and how old is you son? Does he have a hunting licence and a minor P.A.L. licence?

We are in Ontario. He is 12 years old. He is not old enough to have his P.A.L. but did pass all his required hunter/firearms courses and is in possession of his apprenticeship card.

Yes he can get the P.A.L. at the age of 12. He has to buy his own duck tag federal. Provincial he shares you bag count grouse and rabbit. He also has to share one shotgun with you. If he requires a youth stock then two shotguns can be present but one has to be in a case. My son got both licences at the age of 12. He then can hunt on his own at the age of 15 with a minor licence and his own shotgun. At the age of 18 his minor P.A.L. will expire and he will get a P.A.L. renewal form to complete.
