Ive seen on a couple sites warnings saying BUY MIL SPEC TAVOR NOW FUTURE IMPORTS WILL BE COMMERCIAL MODELS?

What the hell does that mean?
Theyre made at IWI so what could be different?

Unless theyre referring to X95s and the TAR-21 will no longer be sold?

Yes. Let me look again. Forgot which retailers it was.

Edit: Kelly's online. The message isnin bright red at the.bottom of the Tavor page

The Tavors imported into Canada to this point were completely manufactured in Israel, and to the same specs as the IDF ones (other than our longer non-restricted barrels where applicable). Now IWI has set up shop in the US, and is producing Tavors for the market there. The US Tavors have a few different bits, including QD sling mounts. AFAIK they are otherwise the same.

The US produced Tavors don't even have an FRT and are not being sold in Canada.

I thought IRUNGUNS had brought some in???

According to TVPP on his site, tar21.com:

"IWI US Tavors have been imported to Canada by IrunGuns, although they are currently rare. These units come with 16″ or 18″ barrels. They are restricted, feature a lighter trigger, and have QD sling mounts in the hand guard and rear receiver. They are a flattop with integral BUIS, and have a body that is very similar to the Gen 2."

One can safely assume all manufacturers of Tavors will be following this new standard? because I would hate to be the one that ends up with a Tavor part that doesn't fit my rifle.
Did he happens tell you what are the difference between commercial spec and military spec Tavors?
which organization came out with the commercial specifications for the new Tavors was it NTSB, ISO, ESA, CSA or EESA?

They definitely brought at least one in, that went straight to the RCMP inspection lab and hasn't been seen since.

We've been seeing hybrid units in Canada for years now, with IWI US style pistons, buffers, and BCGs.

We have been informed by North Sylva that the commercial versions are designed so that none of the internals interchange between the Mil-Spec and Commercial versions. The trigger groups are different and the barrels are different. If you want to switch the commercial version to left hand, you can't just drop a left hand bolt in it like you can with the Mil-Spec. It will have to be headspaced by a gunsmith. Either that, or buy a matching barrel and bolt kit like the ones they have in the US. We're also told the commercial version won't have the detachable flip up sights included with it, and that the price isn't expected to drop on them.

Both are Hummers - BUT....

That kinda makes it sound like they're going to be bringing in the US versions...

Actually not - both are commercial. Mil Humvees are quite different than the H1 civvy trucks - different motors, much different interiors and different wheels and tires. That's before the up-armour kit goes on. Next time one of my military collector customers come in, I'll get a picture.

What's wrong with being interchangeable?
