Mil-Surp 5.56 with flash retardent ?

I had some 5.56 Head stamp PS and year of manufacturer, 20 rounds per brown box.
I was told that stuff was for the Special Forces of Korea, it gave no muzzle flash from my 11.5" barrel at all during a night shoot.
Anyone have similar stuff or experiences?

It is standard ball ammo from Poongsan (PMC). Most mil-spec ammo will included a flash retardant. Was it 55 or 62 gr?

It was the 55, the boxes were brown, marked with XM193, but yet the camo colored boxes were the opposite, they gave a huge fireball.

Strange that they would use "X" is is usually used for the excess/sub standard military ammo sold on the civilain market.

I think the markings are old copies of US Military designations, but it's big flash, or no flash, not even a spark
