military flare pistols?

i have a few of these but theyer not in the country and i am woundering if they need a gun licence to own or import into the country ?
none are 12 gauge guns and all are only firing flare rounds..they are 23mm and 28mm guns
does anyone know if these are classed as firearms in canada or in are they not classed as such??
also how is it to import them??
would it be just fine to send them in the post ?

Basically no, no problem. Flare guns are not guns.

But, you're dealing with Canada Customs. Under some circumstances they may see various gun like things as an issue till they look up the rules.

check cc84 3 of the Statutes of Canada; it exempts signaling devices from registration if my memory is correct

yeah id guess it would be ok as here they sell them without a un licence. so then i suppose one could import them , but .. i always like to be shure, and asking customs is like talking to a shoe with mental disorder

You give customs too much credit, i wouldn't be so kind...

Thanks for starting this thread, i have always wondered about flare pistols. I was once told that the metal ones required some sort of licensing, so have always strayed away from flare stuff. But if they are non-guns, then maybe i'll get me one !

yup and theyer cheap and intresting, it would be fun to load some round for them.. , i mean simple items like bird shot or just a lathed wooden projectile ...
