Yes Indeed! Unlike most other militaries, the US military will sell off current issue items that are new, rather then ship them to other places that need them.

I guess that's how you can spend just under a Trillion dollars a year on defence. Here is another example we have coming in on Friday. Only 20 of these available in original packaging. Last time we saw these ACU bags in new condition was 3 years ago and we only had a half a dozen.

Geez they actually use Gore-Tex. Whatever mystery membrane the CAF bivy bag is made out of was worthless on the 3 different OD green ones I used. I’d wager these would actually work.

Weird... My bivy was water tight.

These bags are very very heavy and unless you're setting up camp for a while it's a PITA to carry a 5lb sleeping bag.

I can attest to the fact that whatever the cadpat ones were, they were neither moss proof, nor Mississippi downpour proof. They work well in conjunction with some form of cover and a not too wet ground. Not 100% waterproof. Not sure about these US ones, but they are tempting!

I’ve been using one of those in Woodland camo. The goretex bivy is heavy duty and it will keep you dry and warm. Bargain price for q premium piece of kit even in the ugly ACU pattern.

I replaced my issued sleeping system with this. Having used the cadpat bivy, this bivy is miles ahead in term of doing its job. It is actually waterproof and will keep you dry.
