Hey all,

The other day I was looking at a poster of all the small arms used by the Canadian forces, and saw something that I thought was pretty cool, but pretty weird. So, I googled it and all I can find that shows anything about it is the same poster I was looking at. Does anyone know anything about this "shotgun, double barrel, 12 gauge, LION"? Any information on who make or model, or where it would be used would be helpful, and start to put my worrying mind to rest.

Valmet 12 ga--kicked better then any mule--used for for"forward lead training"--i.e skeet and as required for MP's/others for varmint control

I think MPs carried them in Somolia.

I seem to recall one guy telling me he actually used it.

Seen these used at CFB Penhold by cadets in the late 1980s.
Used for gopher control believe it or not.
