Hey All . May not be right area for posting . The basics . My Father served in WW1 . Legend , family bs etc says he was told he was too old for WW2 , born 1893 . As he had been working in Collingwood shipyards after returning home . They say he was sent to USA to build ships during WW2 . I do not know if he was sent there , or went there on his own .
I have a small I D badge with a number on it war service ship building USA #92442
I,m not sure how to post pics here yet . does anyone have any info on war service shipbuilding from WW2?
 
You can search for him in the Bureau Archives Canada websites database. All WW1 service records have been digitized and are all publicly available. I suppose <<War Service Shipbuiding>> probably has something to do with the Liberty Ships built by the US in WW2, a lot of them were built in Portland Maine. Someone at one of the museums down there probably knows something.
