Military Surplus Magazine?

Was just around the corner having a key cut, and saw a single issue of this amid piles of of plastic rifle magazines.

It says 'premier issue' on the cover, but the spine says it is 'harris outdoor group presents #130' so I'm not sure if it's a new publication or not.

Anyone picked one up? I'm fairly new to MILSURP, so while I'm sure many of you old salts would scoff at the 'information' held within, I feel like I've still got stuff to learn, and thought it would be an interesting purchase (untill I was paying and found out it was $11 - is this what magazines cost? geez).

I've never been a general interest magazine or periodical reader, but it's got a garand, k98, and M91/30 on the cover, looks like they might be doing a rundown/comparison (I've not opened it yet). I own 2 of the 3, although I've yet to shoot the k98 as I dont have any 8x57 yet, so it might be a good read. Looks to have a bunch on surplus sidearms as well, even though they don;t interest me (aside from maybe a 1911 45, and I've always wanted to fire a few rounds out of a p08)

If it's the one I think it is, it's not bad - very glossy, good quality paper (seen G&A lately?), decent articles, not all the same old, same old.

I believe it's been in the rack a while - something like four to six months. I'd be interested in buying the second edition when they choose to bring it out.
 
You're likely right - it says display until 4/29, so it;s at the end of it's shelf life.

And youre correct, it is a nice magazine.

Garand artile was good, and practical. It is not a 'this gun vs. this gun' magazine, it just looks at each gun seperately, shows 100 yard groups with several types of ammo, explains how to read the marking, and does a good job explaining the nuances/breakdowns of these guns.

I've only poisoned myself further, and now there is no way I'm getting this carburator rebuilt today...
 
Well, I'm only one article deep, but I am shameless and flipped though to look at all the pictures before reading anything (aka titty magazine style).

No Enfield? Very weird, right?

Premiere issue, so no previous issues. Must be a different mag. This is the one...
