Military Trunk?

Damn, I haven't seen one of those in a long time. Mine is somewhere in my parent's garage...I should retrieve it. Such fond memories of NCOs ordering us to remove our locks, taking our barrack boxes and tossing the contents out on the ground because one blade could never remember to keep his locked.

Hey had one of those in Cornwallis, I remember the NCO's tossing my contents out the window a few times though.

Yes, standard Canadian issue barrack box that was in use up to the late 1980s when they brought in another style.
When I joined the RCAF in 64 we were issued 2 lockable canvas bags. Pretty much the same as the ones issued to my mother in 41 when she joined the RCAF. I still have one of hers. I should donate it to a military museum.

Or some guy forgot to put his name and last 3 SIN in his underwear... next thing you know, everything is pilled up in the middle of the shack...

"DO YOU REALIZE PRIVATE THAT WITHOUT YOUR NAME AND SIN THAT SOMEONE COULD HAVE STOLEN YOUR UNDERWEAR? PVT BLADE YOU ARE TWO POUNDS OF #### ON A ONE POUND BAG AND SINCE YOUR FELLOW SOLDIERS HAVEN'T HELPED YOU TO UN#### YOURSELF WE WILL DO IT FOR THEM. EVERYONE BRING YOUR BARRACKS BOXES!"

We had this one ####ing guy...

You're better off keeping it in the family. Most military museums will have more of those than they can shake a stick at.

The museum I work at is a community museum, not specifically military; we still have two of those, and wouldn't be looking to collect more.
