Was reading in another forum that Millet rings were not the best choice for a 9.3 x 300 winmag, but didn't get a decent answer as to why. I have a 9.3x62mm with millet rings on it and will be developing a load for it next week. Will I have trouble with these rings & why ?
they seem pretty beefy .

Not a fan of them, as I dont like the windage clamps, they aren't as beefy as most other systems.

IMO, for rings, the less moving parts, the better. On weaver bases, I prefer Burris zee rings.

A lot of people hate these rings. Personally, I think they're not bad, and well worth their low price. The little clamps look as though they wouldn't be strong, but I had a pair on a Sako in .375 H&H (they make a set for the Sako dovetail, basically their standard ring design but using an intermediate piece between ring and receiver) and they held for several years and many hundreds of rounds without problems. They give you a slight but useable amount of windage correction in both front and rear positions, and they aren't totally hideous. The rimfire version is nice because it works with some of the imported dovetails that are slightly larger than standard 3/8-inch.

Not saying I love'em...I don't...but there are much worse rings out there.

i recently HAD to use a set of 30mm Millet rings. When you use the tape supplied they did not mark up the scope finish more than anyone else. The disappointing part was when I was tightening down one of the screws on the front ring. The screw kept tightening until it went through the top ring and therefore would not secure the scope.

Luckily I had access to some Torx screws from a gunsmith pack and they were able to grab and hold. In the end I decided to keep things looking uniform and put the Millet allen head screws off to the side and put in 4 new Torx. They locked up tight and held the scope on.
