Hi there ! i was wondering if any body had any experience with those scopes, they claim that their are heavy duty ready and rugged and i read some nice things about them, but obviously you get what you paid for and it cant be expected for them to be "better" then Night Force. What's cons and pros with them compared to other makes, are they really more durable then others or just massively built? Please share you knowledge and experience guys :)
Best Regards.

Ive heard the good and the bad as well.

I have one coming in the mail at the moment, so I can say for myself when it shows up.

Not that this is of much help, but I should have some first hand input within a week or two.

I do get out to sybil flats once or twice a year (1/2 hr. west of calgary). If your in the area send me a PM and ill let you know when I plan on trying it out.

Had my TRS-1 Ill Ret Mil Dot for over a year on a high volume medium recoil rifle.

It has not missed a beat and tracking is very good.

Glass is on par with a 3200 elite for clarity, but it DOES suffer a little edge clarity at maximum resolution, and some slight achromatic refraction on light objects in full sunlight (that is the small blue line on the edges you see in a lot of optics at max magnification)
I am sure better coatings in other scopes help tone that down a little, but for the $$$ it is hard to beat Millet's Value/Feature/Quality for the price.

Thank you for replies guys, i really appreciate it =), any word one "ruggedness"?
Thanks for invitation Cody, but i dont think ill be able to get out of the city in following month, due to my work scheduled, i have to shoot at indoor range, but i would be really interested to read your review if you will be willing to right one =)

I got the scope, but I have the wrong mounts (weaver instead of picatinny)

Anyways got it mocked up to have a look at it, and it looks great, overall its way to good for what I paid. I wont be able to try it out till the rail shows up, but from just testing the glass off the back deck without it mounted, I was watching people hiking on a hill about 1.5km's away, I could of spotted a deer through it in the field there as long as it wasnt bedded down. I think this will do for what I want out of it.

The only thing, the rings that come with it are way too tall. Scope sits about 3/4" over the barrel/closest point. If anyone decides to order one of these I would suggest ordering a set of the Millett low 35mm mounts at the same time, they come with the tall mounts, which I heard were because of mounting for AR's.

I have a Millet DMS scope on my rimfire,

Pretty happy with it, I would say its on par with Bushnell 3200 or Leupold VX-1 scopes. Its a 1-4x magnification so the glass doesnt need to be world class to function well. If you are looking at a higher magnification then that is were you will find the limitations of lower priced optics are more noticeable.

Cant really speak for durability, its mounted on a rimfire and still kinda new to me. Only had it out a dozen times or so since I got it but judging by adjustment caps and power adjustment ring I feel its a decently built unit.

Like most will say, when it comes to optics you really get what you pay for. Some you overpay but get great warranty so its really what you can afford.

Ya i know something will have to be sacrificed, and it's bit too hard for me to pull out 2k for new nightforce with "first focal", which is my dream  but if it comes to choosing between "visibility" and "ruggedness" it might be strange by i would most likely go with second option, that's what kid off gets my attention to Millet in general, i hope im right about it ))

Thank you for your reply Surclod! =)

Best Regards

i have a 4.5x18 falcon mennace on my savage 10 fp now was looking at the millett for a longer range scope , but i noticed falcon does make longer range scopes 5.5 x25x50, and 10x50 x60, ????

I looked at the falcon's as well. I liked the idea of trying their big 60mm scope, but decided to try out a millett to see how the 35mm tube was and wanted something with better zoom than my meopta (3-12x56) for 500+ yard range shooting.

Can I post pics in this thread?
