Normally I'm all for the wide open ports, however since you can't top-load the T3 magazines, and the T3's generally eject just fine out of the small port, there's no real reason to do this modification...

All milling away the extra metal will do is likely take some of the stiffness out of the receiver and have a negative effect on accuracy.
Really! Have you looked a Sako A7 it is cut the same .Not to mention all of other actions.The main reason for not removing it during production is machining costs .The Tikka action is all about production costs just look how its made .Not that they are not good rifles .The locking lugs are in the front so no issues with action stress .Have at it mill away all the excess .Makes a nice light action .
