Hello, would someone be kind enough to measure the inner diameter with a caliper of a milspec stock for me?
It's not for an AR, but for a ruger SR22 i just bought, but you AR guys could help me out better.
I know my buffer tube is 1.148'', just measured. From what i have searched i come up with milspec tube.
As for stock, i have not found measurment anywhere. I just measure the inside of stock and came up to 1.180''
Was going to just order a milspec stock and see if wobble would stop, but prefer asking prior to buying as i do not want to waste unecessary dollars on this build.

Exactly, this sr22 was second handed off the EE here, sports the classic adjustanle stock, but does not have the ruger logo on it.
It rattles pretty bad, but do love the look of the classic stock, thats why i need specs on commercial/mil stocks, as i already had specs on buffer tubes.
Thanks anyways!

The stock i would want is 40$, could someone please check this for me?
I do not wish to spend an extra 40$+ship just to realise i already had milspec and that the wobble is normal...

I know this is probably not the solution you are looking for........but a strip or two of electrical tape might solve your problem (granted it will look oogly).

You can tell from the pic posted... a commercial tube is 1.168" and a milspec 1.148". You measured your stock at 1.180" and your tube at 1.148".

You have a commercial stock on a milspec tube. A milspec stock will tighten it up considerably, but some are better than others.

Edit: Well, unless you measured wrong.

This!!! I just measured my "Guaranteed" Milspec stock. I got two measurements depending on where I put the gauge. If I measure the inside of the stock at the very outer lip I get 1.150" if I slide the gauge in ever so slightly I can get your measurement of 1.180" could be slight tolerance differences in the molding process.

Any of the collapsible stocks will have some rattle to them, I would suggest since you are 100% confident your buffer tube is Milspec, upgrade your stock to a Milspec Magpul CTR with the secondary locking feature and the rattle will be gone

Should be measuring the tightest spot, naturally. But yeah, a crummy stock will rattle regardless... as the man said, a Magpul CRT would be best.

Perfect thank you guys for the replies. I want a classic build, even considering installing delta ring with classic handguard.
So classic stock is a must, a bit of rattling aint bad, but this here is real bad.
Just wanted to make sure before ordering a 40$+ colt oem stock.
In my personnal taste , even tough im young enough, i go for the classic, so magpul is not my stuff.

I do own an AR15 (its actually stamped M15), to give you an idea, its an armalite 20" barrel, all A2 furniture with full stock, only thing A4 is my detach carry handle. So yeah if ican get a classic collapsible to fit tight i would be golden.

Thanks for checking this, will try right on edge and move forward inside to see if measure changes.

Edit, remesured to make sure.
1.18" was at smallest, if i move caliper i can get to 1.20"
