milsurp alert!! - check this out!

If it fits your collection and you will enjoy it have at it, but don't buy them just to flip for a profit. This is why the hobby is starting to suck and examples of most surps' are unobtainable for the average collector.

Thank you!

Edit - ordered one. If the bayonets are SN matched to the guns I'm gonna wet myself.

I doubt the bayonets are serialized at all, they aren't removable and are pinned on - but I'll let you know when mine gets here ;) There was no need to serialize non-removable parts on wartime production rifles.

Don't take this the wrong way, but prices are set by supply/demand and it's condescending to tell people not to buy/sell/trade their hobby items of choice. If they make a profit doing so, profit is not a dirty word in a capitalist democracy.

Like most things, you have to pay to play. This variant is NOT going to get any cheaper.

You are correct. Did some digging and while the assembly could be removed by taking out the pin, they were not serialized. I still might wet myself.

I will flip anything I think I can make a profit on, and could care less what anyone thinks. The more cash deals I can do the less government involvement in my finances the better.

Yes I whole heartedly understand (econ major) but the demand is often "influenced" by a certain amount of hype found on these boards. For the most part I have absolutely everything to gain as I sit on a nice collection (I was the guy buying armfuls of K31's when they were dirt cheap ;) ). But in doing that I bought them because I enjoyed them not because I wanted to turn a profit eventually. For the average joe is it acceptable to buy/ sell/ trade up/ make a few bucks to in turn get another more spendy item? totally! Should it be your primary goal in the hobby? I would say no, it's that mentality that will kill the hobby when the next generation of people potentially interested simply can't break into it due to prohibitive cost...but ebb and flow I guess.

Back on topic, it's an interesting variant for sure. I had a "what the hell is that" moment when I saw it in their Facebook feed. It would be interesting to know more of their origins/ where they found them in Europe. I look forward to mine.

They started posting remaining stock at 30, but for a few hours there was not stock count, so I'm guessing they originally had in the 30 to 50 range.
