I've made a few posts in here but I'm pretty new to the gun world. Im interested in old Milsurp guns and was wondering how much ammo costs/where I can find it. Stuff like .303 British and 7.62R.

762R Im assuming 762x54R ?? The best place to look is on the 'EE' ammo section, it is usually hit or miss but when you find it be prepared to spend 1 dollar + per round, gone are the days of buying ammo by the metric ton. Cdn Tire has 303 brit hunting ammo for 19 a box that might be the best price your gonna find:)

You in Olds/Sundre ????

If you are ever out and about in Central Ab. check out the 'sportmans den' in Red Deer ( north hill ) or Bashaw Sports 'Pud' might have surplus kicking around

Surplus .303Brit is getting pretty rare, I spent months looking when i got my PAL. If you find it its gonna cost you. The last few posts on the EE were $1 per round, not including shipping. The cheapest I have found is at P&S Militaria. Its $25 for a box of 48. Only problem is they absolutely will not ship ammo, even if you ask nice (believe me I tried). If you really like to shoot .303, reloading is a must. But reloading 303 is a little more costly then say reloading .223 or 9mm since the Enfields (I assume is what you shoot) is killer on brass due to the sloppy chambers they have. I also recommend you get into casting bullets.

Most milsurp ammo for either is gone. Definitely .303 Ball. Shipping costs will negate any savings when buying ammo on-line.
Your best bet for a reliable source of ammo is to reload. The initial cost for the equipment will be recovered over time and you'll be shooting ammo that is tailored for your rifle.
