Hi,

I just want let everyone in the Milsurp forum know that the RCMP just reclassified the Swiss SG550 and CZ858 as prohibited firearms. As some of you may be aware of the SG550 has been sold as unrestricted in this country for 12 years. Not to mention the large amount of CZ858's in the country as well.

There is a new subsection of CGN dedicated to topics about this unfortunate incident.

Please take the time to go to that section and read a few threads.

Then please email your local MP and minister of the public safety and let them know that you as a gun owner will not stand for this abuse of power by the RCMP and that you expect the government to step in and override this decision and that it is time for bill C-68 to be scrapped and that a qualified third party should be responsible for overseeing firearms classification.

Also let them know that this situation may determine how you vote in the upcoming election.

That new section is absolutely filling up with threads and contact info for MP's. I decided to post this thread because somebody in that forum said "the hunters, target shooters and Milsurp guys won't know and don't care about these kinds of issues"

Let's let them know that we do care and we are ALL gun owners and are all in the same fight.

In total agreement here. Write, call, Email, go in and talk to your MP face to face. If this is not checked now then we (firearms owners/users) are only one bad election away from being social engineered out of existence by being buried alive in bad law, regulations and bureaucrats with an agenda.
 
There is an RCMP wish list that has been floating around as well. Versions of the Ruger 10/22 and Remington 597 are on that list, along with a good many others. These people will not be satisfied until ALL semi autos are gone.
 
I've joined both the NFA and rejoined the CSSA and sent them both a donation, I've also set pen to paper (yes, handwritten) letters to my MP and to the PM voicing my displeasure over this and the Firearms Act.

Perhaps Grizz but we still have a right not to choose if we see that as fit. A vote not registered because no one fits OUR agenda hurts them just as bad as a vote for the other side.

I'm paying for an affected CZ owner's NFA membership today, and he is making a separate donation. Offering the same deal to two of his friends as well. We need numbers and fightin' money.
 
I hope that this has made it clear to ALL of us in the firearms hobby, that no one is safe. Please don't be naïve and think it doesn't affect you. If not today, then it will tomorrow. I think many of us have finally realized that, but educate those that aren't aware.

Replicas such as the STG 44 in 22lr are 'Prohib'. What does that tell you. Even some BB guns are prohib. Look here for a good comperehensive list if you haven't already:

I think we are under attack in general.

I think what really struck a cord with me was the fact that not handing your now prohib firearm is punishable by 3 years min sentence. But yet on the otherhand in this country you can take a large knife and and cut a 20 year olds head off on a bus full of people and then 6 years later be walking free in down town Selkirk Manitoba.

I just don't get it.
