Milsurp gurus in Ottawa?

I just received my 98K and Portuguese K98 from the Wolverine sale. Very pleased with both but the Port K98 is a real gem and appears un-issued, with matching bayonet is flawless condition.

I'll take some snaps tomorrow of both rifles and bayonet and post them.

The Port is absolutely caked head to toe with cosmoline. As I have zero experience with cosmoline removal I would like to connect with someone in Ottawa who is experienced in such things and can show me the ropes. The last thing I'd want to do is damage this special piece in any way.

Boiling water on all the metal worked great for me. Take the gun apart, boil the small parts in an old pot and pour boiling water on the others. Then rub the stock down with a rag a few times.

There are water marks on the inside of the stock you dont want to erase. Use varsol.

may i ask how much u payed for both rife? and that is a nice port k98 i wish i woke up sooner haha u beet me to buying them (im all-was slow when trying to get k98 i all was call 5 mins after there sold haha someday i find a nice one)
