I recently picked up a D-Day knife for the collection.... however.... some issues have come up.... Does anyone have any info or providence on these types of knives.... all I have found is nada..... :(

From the IMA web site:

New Made Item: These are reproductions of the extremely rare emergency issue cruciform bladed fighting knives used by Free French and other Allied troops during the second part of 1944.

Originally using a 6 1/2" blade section from a French 1886 Lebel bayonet mounted on an all steel knurled no-slip hilt. Issued in slightly modified British #4 spike bayonet scabbards the originals of this model are now very rare.

A fascinating piece of WW2 Invasion equipment, new made D-Day Lebel Fighting knife.

Comes complete with correct British WWII Standard Spike Bayonet Scabbard.

I have found no such reference to anything in any of my knife books. Help is greatly appreciated.

i have no references, but i have heard of these before. they look like a terrible pick as they lack any sort of guard to prevent the hand slipping.

I've heard two stories about these . don't know if there is any truth to either.
1, they were purpose built for the commandos for the D day invasion as there were shortages of commando knives.
2, totally made up fakery at its best.
