I recently acquired a 1960's Parker Hale .303 sporting- style No.4 Mk.1. This rifle is NOT a bubba! The action is polished and well blued, monte carlo stock. The bolt is also polished. What catagory does this rifle fall into? The original box is missing, the rifle is unfired. The elderly gentleman kept it oiled and ready to keep critters off his 7 acres . Receiver was drilled and tapped (2 screw PH style), the rear sight is a MK1 micrometer. What would be its value? Thanks in advance for any info.

As the PH started it's life as a No 4 service rifle, it really has no collector value as a milsurp. It will however, serve you well as a sporting rifle. The PH scope mounts for the LE are no longer made. They are superior to the B-Square and Weaver sights (especially as those have that dreadful 3/8 tip off rail). You are most likely to find the PH mount on ebay or at gunshows.

PH and Churchill Lee Enfield sporters are fairly common here. It would have to be in excellent - minty shape to get $ 250.00 $275.00 and more likely to be worth about $200.00 . Such prices are what they usually change hands for here in McGooey land (Ont.)
