Anyone been to Tulsa gun show in the last year or two? I'm looking for full-wood shooter grade mausers, enfield, carcano, mannlicher et al or is it mainly 3/4 + new and antique? worth the flight? Prices would probably be high, it is a gun show after all :p

Tulsa use to be good, but in the last few years Milsurp selection is not so great and prices are sky high. A dealer friend of mine who has attended the show to buy for the last 22 years is not even bothering to go this year. But on the other hand, Tulsa is still the biggest show in the USA just do not expect to trip over deals on very table.

OK thanks. So is it mainly modern and "please don't touch" antique guns. What would you say the percentage is between that and shooter/collector milsurps.

About 5 to 10% last time I went a couple of years ago, Autumn show is the better show.

I just got back and attended the Spring Show last year as well. I've been going about every other year for the past 12 years. I've attended mostly the Spring shows.

I go mostly to meet up with some American friends and to see the goodies. I don't typically buy anything - this year it was just a hat and a bag.

There was a time up to perhaps 5-6 years ago when I envied the price and availability of the milsurps, but no longer. I didn't see a single milsurp I would have bought even if I could have bought it in Canadian dollars and just checked it with my bags. I can't say the same for AR-15's!

We have it good in Canada with regard to milsurp availability and prices.

Times have changed and milsurps certainly won't be getting any cheaper. Military surplus just isn't hitting the market anymore, so we've pretty much got what we've got.
