Mini-14 Advise/Help

Hi I have an older model 82 Mini-14 I have mounted a weaver standard top rail and 3-9x40 scope. The problem I am having is with the spent casings hitting the side turret cover when ejected. Do I have any options here?

Sure, turn the scope sideways, make the elevation drum the windage and the windage the elevation. Kinda depends on what crosshair you have but if its just a normal one this will work well. Remember when you look at the knobs that the top one is up and down and the one on the left side in left and right!!
