I think you may be happier with an MR1 if you think that. It does cost 700$ more for the same accuracy however and have less aftermarket support.ar mags would make the mini 14 worthwhile, other than just having one to piss off an anti.

Yeah I'm surprised they haven't put out a revision that takes AR mags, I bet it would sell like hot cakes.. Even though they already can't keep stock.
Guaranteed it will cost more than the savings on the amount of AR mags the average person would purchase for the Mini. Also I don't think people will be as quick to take a dremel to a 1000$ rifle as they are to an Sks.
The Ruger factory 20 and 30rd mags are excellent mags, their only drawback is that they are not half the price.

No I didn't when I compared the two and in the threads I've seen displaying the mr1 accuracy haven't been anything too impressive considering its price either.Did you find that after shooting both the Ruger Mini-14 and the Benelli MR-1 that their accuracy was comparable taking into account ammo. quality and other factors such as wind/distance...
Cheers D
Sold the mini and bought an su16. Happy with that decision.
Funny, I sold my su16 and now have a mini14. Quite happy too.
There used to be dual use ar/mini 14 magazines made.
Apparently they didn't work well in either rifle.
Just jawing.
