Mini-14 ban question.

I read about a month ago somewhere that some government people were trying to get the mini-14 banned. Was that a load of crap? if it's not are they still trying? is there a decent chance it would get banned? And finally if it did, would the owners be compensated or just have to destroy it?

Not this again...
If they would have wanted to ban the Mini-14, they would have done it in 1990, right after the Montreal Shooting. So I wouldn't worry, it is "a load of crap". They got a lot of other stuff to take away from us before the Mini-14; first all the prohibs, then handguns, then restricted AR's and only then your beloved Mini(and my SKS). After that, comes Bubbas' shotgun and bolt .303 and then your sons' pellet gun...and so on...

A reply letter from the Liberal Min of Justice to someone sort of leaked out something about banning the Mini14. They soon backtracked, saying they have no plans to ban it AT THIS TIME. If the dreaded Lieberals had been re-elected last month, what do you think would happen?

I'm either buying a mini-14 or a norc m-305 next month. Just wanted to make sure nothing bad woulad happen if i bought the mini-14. It would also suck if they banned the SKS. It's one of my favorite cheap plinkers.

Well In time if were not careful and continue to put the pressure on the anti's and converting peoples mindsets the mini 14's will only be one of many firearms you can kiss good bye and eventually anything that fires an object even a slingshot . But for now I think the mini's are safe I sure hope so anyway because I absolutly love mine.
