Does anyone have an interest in Mini 14 parts kits from new guns? They would probably be around $1000 to $1200 and would include everything except the receiver and magazine.

You couldn't toss in the mag considering that was what the stainless model went for around the time they were banned..?

They don't come with magazines. It doesn't matter what they went for when they got banned, it what I have to pay for them now.

See no value in expensive parts from a banned gun that fit nothing else.. IMO as dumb as
1000 for a welded up Krink.
Canadian used and parts markets are effed up.

Lots of people want spare parts for their guns and from the PM's I'm getting I assume lots of people must be interested.

Lots of people want deactivated guns to hang on their wall. It's actually a large portion of some companies business.

FWIW - maybe 25 years ago, I acquired a Mini with ruined barrel. Eventually I found a take-off barrel. Mini barrels do not appear to index from one receiver to another. Retrofitting a barrel to a receiver could get really complicated. Not like a M-14/M305. Back in the day, I sent Minis back to Ruger to be rebarreled. I would get back a barreled action with all the original parts installed, except for the new barrel and new receiver - which would have the original serial number. I believe that in manufacture, a barrel would be installed and headspaced, then the gas port would be drilled, the gas block installed and the front sight mounted. Ruger would replace the barrel/receiver unit rather than install a new barrel.

I'm not sure what could be done with a Mini parts set. AR parts sets can be used to complete manually operated rifles. Unless a bolt action receiver were to be available, I cannot see a use for a Mini parts kit.

That's good to know, thanks.

They are not interchangeable from one receiver to another .
