Mini 14 rear sight replacement

I have a stainless Ruger Mini 14 Ranch Rifle with the factory side folding stock. I'm not impressed with the fragile looking folding rear peep sight - which looks to have been replaced with a fixed solid assembly on the newer rifles. Is there a replacement rear sight you guys can recommend? Thanks in advance.
 
Have you considered looking into replacing it with the rear sight that's used on the new (580 series) Mini-14s? I should think that all you would need to do is order the appropriate part from Ruger through an authorized Canadian service centre/gunsmith. I'm not sure, but there might be a difference between the older and newer front sights as well, in which case you could end up having to replace both in order to make the newer rear sight 'work' properly.
 
Both XS Sights and Williams make replacement rear aperture sights for the Ranch rifle.
I believe the Williams requires drilling and tapping.
