Hey Guys I need a few suggestions , I just picked up nice Ranch Rilfe and I need to mount a scope , the one I had at Home that I was going to use is too short between the end bells along the main tube. Has anybody got any ideas as to what fits best , I'd like to stay with a variable power around 3X9, or so.
Thanks

Is your scope compact? Because the mount on a ruger is usually quite short. Bushnell scopes have a long tube, but best is just take the measure and check it on other scopes.

Well the one I tried was a 3x-40 mildot from Marstar that I had on my SKS . My Mini is a stainless ranch so if I get a silver scope the dings from the flying brass shouldn't be a problem(maybe). I thought the higher power magnification would make up for my poor eyes:rolleyes:

Unless you can live with the various dings caused by the ejecting brass get a scope you can easily refinish.

Is that common with all Ranch Rifles?

Is there any way to rectify it?

I've got a Bushnell Elite 3200 2x7x32mm on mine. It's seems about the perfect size and weight for it. Ranch Rifles eject to the side so brass doesn't hit it. Regular Mini's are top eject.

I have a tasco varmint on mine. I turned the scope 90 degrees so that the windage is now the elevation knob and windage is on the left side. It helps with the dings on the knobs allot.

That sounds like a good idea , gets the windage knob out of the way , clever!
I got a RUKO scope from a friend yesterday and mounted it last nite it's a 3x-40 mm and it fits well, I'll boresite it today .
Thanks guys:)
BTW this rifle shoots sweet,it's a hungry one too!

I had a very early 70s stainless & simply made a little stainless deflector plate! Unfortunatly it's long gone & I can't even remember where I attached it to
