Mini-30 vs. cz 858

The mini-30 is accurate enough at 3-4 moa with surplus ammo. It is the stainless version. It is easy to clean and after shooting thousand of rounds shows no additional war from the surplus ammo. It a fun rifle. Cheap to shoot. I also find it very reliable and if you have a m14 it breaks down much the same way.

I wouldn't buy a 2nd mini-30. But I would not sell mine either.

To be honest I like them equaly, they are just so different. But I do shoot the mini-30 more. Anyone who buys a mini-30 probably wont be disapointed. Just be aware ofwhat you are getting. It is not bolt gun accurate.

Mini-30 mags may be hard to get. VZ58 mags are fairly easy as most rifles come with 4.

Far as I know the mini-30 is more expensive then the 858. That said the 858 is a superior rifle in many ways. I would always choose the 858.

what extra spring is that?i have a cz858 and would like to have a lighter trigger pull.
 
I don't know why the ruger minis are so popular with survivalists(the crazy ones on tv) when SKS Rifles are cheaper and apparently just as accurate. Plus they can get AKs too.
Who are buying these mini30s that justify still making them?
Hmmm 1 Mini30 or 3 SKS Rifles?

To improve the performance of these guns, just obtain a set of springs from WOLF Gunsprings. The ranch rifles with these spring work great. The stainless steel models are best for surplus 5.56 and 7.62x39 shells. Easy to clean.
