This is to anyone thats interested in a new model stainless mini 30.I bought a new one from Ellwood Epps and put an ati folding stock and a new redfield 2x7 scope.I sighted the gun in at fifty yards for a few problem beavers I have on my land, to my surprise the gun shot very good.I had four shots that measured half inch accross by one inch high and the fifth shot was a quarter inch above the other four. That was from shooting over the hood of my truck, that is plenty enough accurracy to make head shots on beaver.I was using good hunting loads, not millitary surpluss.I heard some people say they couldn't hit a barn door at fifty yards so I was very surprised the way mine shoots,I am very happy with mine and it looks good with the ati stock.I bought a Mo-rod barrel unit for the gun which is suppose to stiffen the barrel and improve accuracy,It is comming from the States but after shooting this gun I found out I didn't need it and will probably sell it.So who ever in sitting on the fence because they are not sure about the accuracy of the new ruger mini's this is for you.I love shooting this gun and so will you.

I've bought a few Mini's over the years and most out of the box are in the 3 to 4 moa range. Every once in a while we get one that does perform. The hard part is keeping it, we always end up selling it and then kick ourselves later.

I had one that shot good enough for deer hunting in my area, but they are far from tack drivers.
One thing i don't understand is the crazy asking prices on used mini 30s with the lack of quality hunting amunition available in Canada. I would put them in the $400-$450 price range to be realistic.
