Hi gents.

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on using a mini lathe to thin the necks on some brass?

I am converting cases to 43 Spanish and the necks are too thick on the 43 Reformado cases I am using for this conversion.

I need a lathe, but do not have one. Is there a hobby metal one I can buy, or a way to diy one?

I only need to convert about 10 cases, not interested in getting something too expensive or big for just a small job.

Open to your advice, opinions or general comments!
Cheers,

You might not need a lathe? Some years ago I had a tool by Forster (?) - Hand-held Outside Neck Turner (HOT100) - had a mandrel that slipped inside the case mouth and neck - then a cutter on outside that would peel off brass - seemed to be reasonably precise - was when I was playing with neck wall thickness in a 338 Win Mag - could not see any difference on groups that I got - but I think the tool might still be available - listed online from Forster circa $US 95.00?

Awesome, that tool looks like something that will fit the bill for my needs. Thanks for that.
