well looks like I forgot to write down my load data..... :(

so I'm looking at 32mag and 30 Carbine and 32-20 data to figure out a load, using my collection of reloading manuals

I've settled on a .312" 110grn Hornady XTP bullet on top of 10grns of IMR 4227

oh bore slugs out at .315"
Brass is 32-20 winchester brass, with the rims thinned down .005"
Small Rifle Primers
the 30 Carbine seating die set to minimum length works for seating

anyone have other suggestions ???

Get a decent mold and cast proper size lead bullets???

Not trying to diss you woodchopper, but my experience with .310 Martini cadet rifles has led me to believe this is the best option.

I believe the original loads for the cartridge were with cast lead heeled bullets??????

Yes, heeled is correct. Swaged at the factory rather than cast I would think. Cast Bullet Engineering in Australia does a repro mold of the original bullet and an improved version. Shipping to canada is available. .312 jacketed in a .315 might not shoot very well especially without an exposed base.

casting is on my list of things to get into... I have about 20Lbs of lead set aside but I'm not set up yet so I use what I have on the shelf.

10grns of IMR4227 fills the case fairly well

Ok so range report

The Mini Martini worked great, 10grn IMR4227 with a 110grn Hornady .312" XTP was averaging around 1300FPS

I think I will need to seat the bullets a little deeper, the 30 Carbine seating die screwed all the way down is still a little long.

If it fits your chamber and there are no pressure signs, why???

32 S&W dies should work with a .315" bullet and get your length shorter than the 30 carbine die.

I have a heeled bullet design mold for 310 cadet and I believe the full diameter is about .321". Can also make 115gr 32-20 bullets at .314". Let me know if you want to try them

I had read on a website of someone using 7.62 Nagant for brass. I have one and there can be variations in the 310 chambers from gunsmith alterations over the years that were not indicated on the barrel. The Nagant cartridge would fit and extract in mine so I gave it a go. The bullet is undersize so no issues with pressure. The case fireformed out to a usable piece of brass to use in the chamber on my rifle. Lee made dies for the Australian market and CH Tool still offers them on a special order basis.
