So its looking like I'll be the new owner of a mini Martini chambered in 310 Cadet.

yes photos will get posted in the future as I don't have it yet.

Now shooting it is going to be the trick as ammo for a 310 Cadet is not something I have ever seen on the shelf.

I posted in the reloading section but not a single comment so far, so I figured that someone here would have information. So I'm asking the same questions.

I've done some quick and dirty research on it and 310 was designed as a heeled bullet, around 120grn, but regular bullets will work for reloading.

It looks like 8mm / .323 bullets are what I'm going to need but I'll know after I slug the bore.

Now brass is another issue, but it looks like 32-20 brass trimed is the best option.

powder I'm thinking IMR4227 as its the same powder I'm using to load 577-450 for my full sized Martini rifles, and from what I've seen about 10grns for a 120grn bullet.

anyone with experience reloading for a 310 Cadet mini Martini ??

I shoot a .310 regularly. 32/20 brass drops right in with no issues. I use 30 carbine dies but have to run the cases through a .317" neck expander and flare the case mouths afterwords to seat bullets After the first firing the slight neck on the 32/20 is straightened out nicely. Bullets were a different issue. I fond my bore to mic. out at .3175. I had a custom mold made up by accurate molds to drop a 125 gr., .320 dia. bullet. I run them through a .321 sizer die to lube them. I am sure the liquid alox would work as well. 5.3 gr of Hp38 gives me about 1350 fps if I recall correctly. Have not messed with different loads as this one gives me 4" groups @ 100 meters. At 50 meters you can pile them up into nice tight groups. Don't listen to gaff leave it original!

thanks all, I was thinking I could use 32 pistol bullets (.312") but thats not going to work. I wanted to avoid cast bullets just to keep it simple but it looks like that is not going to be an option.

I wonder if I can swage some 9mm or 38 down .015" to .320" or bump some 32 up .008"

as for converting it to 32 win special that is not really in the plans.

I'll have to look what is available in other .32 cal and 8mm bullets that might be suitable.

FWIW, MANY MANY of these were re-chambered to .32 Winchester Special over the years because all it takes is a quick reamer job and the ammo is readily available. I would suggest you try a .32 SPL case in the gun before investing in any .310 stuff. I've yet to see an un-molested .310 in Canada - it was that common.

Or I could send you some bullets?

I use Fiocchi Nagant revolver brass in mine trimmed to length.A friend has a .310 cadet mold and he cast up some bullets for me and also gave me some colloidal graphite to use as a gas check. It's been awhile but I think it's 3.5 grains of blue dot.I also use CH4 dies.

I'll have to check that out.

I intend to give it a full inspection before I run out looking for brass and bullets.

muzzle flash I may take you up on your offer in the future once I know exactly what I have.
