Hi all, I own a pair of minox binos and love them. I see that they now offer a line of rifle scopes and was wondering if anyone has one and how they like it. I was also wondering how they compair to other brands?

I asked this same question on an optics forum not that long ago, comparing them with the zeiss conquest. Some preferred the zeiss while others preferred the minox. They both use german schott glass. I am leaning towards the minox myself as there doesn't seem to big a big enough difference between the 2 of them to warrant the extra $100 of the zeiss.

I am also considering a Minox in a 3-15x42, but am a bit concerned about the lack of Parallax adj. Should I be?? I don't want a 50 obj. I would buy a Zeiss conquest with the rapid z in a heart beat if they had something in the 2 to 3 by 12-14 zoom. I keep going back to the Burris 2-12, cause I can't spend the Swaro Z-6 money.

I have both and prefer the Zeiss. The fact both use glass made by the same company means little, it's all in the coatings and grade of glass each scope manufacturer uses.
I find Minox to be comparable to the older Leupold Vari XIII line or newer VXII.

I will choose to not name the scope brand my Minox glass compares to. (friend's, not mine... rifles were side by side, on about 14-16 power looking out to 800 yards, ranged by swaro, and as it got dark well past sunset). I would imagine it is the tactical turrets and reticle, illumination, 30mm tube, and popularity (good reputation, for good reasons) that make the biggest difference in price between those two scopes.

As for the VX2, I would suggest trying it for yourself. It doesn't even have to start getting dark. I plan on putting a Minox on every rifle I buy.

PS: after about my 5th edit :) .... personally I would go for a side parallax model for anything over 12 power or so.

I tried to contact Minox to ask if the 3-15x42 was going to come out with a parallax adj.
I received no response.

plainSightSolutions is the handle the Minox dealer in Quesnel. you can PM him here on the forum under that name. Great guy to deal with, even if you aren't buying a $2500 Nightforce scope

I have a Minox Z5 3x15x42 (not x50 like I posted in another thread) anyway, I haven't used it a great deal yet, I may have about 120 -130 rounds shot since mounting it but so far I like very much. It's mounted on a 300 Win Mag and no problems so far.

I got a minox 2-10x40 with the xr reticle. I havent used it much. I am not sure what I think of the reticle yet either. I think the glass is quite nice, I have read it compares to the zeiss conquest and leupold vx 3. One thing I will say is that the turret clicks feel a bit weak in comparison to the leupold. I cant compare to the zeiss, never seen one up close. Also the turrets are much bulkier than a vx3. If you dont mind a bulkier turret, and the clicks, I say give it a try. All things considered I think the minox is great value.
