Anyone shoot the new Miroku 73 Winchesters .I just picked up one of the case coloured sporting rifles in 44/40 and it s a beaut, the wood is fantastic with the case colours and bluing done nicely. This is going to be my Deer rifle for next year can t wait to get her to the range and try her out.

Where did you get yours?

My dad has had one of the shot show 2015 rifles on order since last Jan, and the delivery date keeps getting pushed back, now to next summer. He's just going to cancel the bloody thing and see what else is out there.

I have un-boxed a half dozen or so of them and consider them all better buy's than the Italians on offer at the moment. I measure every new 73 against a Cowboy completion ready criteria and every Miroku 73 that I have touched passed with flying colors.

One word of caution and you can use your own judgment as to if you want to heed or not. You specifically say the purpose of your new gun is to hunt deer with it. Be aware that even tho this gun is manufactured with new metal alloys that are considerably better than the old originals, they are still an 1873 invented toggle action gun that have some very small pins and toggle boss's internaly. The 44-40 round can be handloaded to far exceed the strength of these parts.

by all means, use your gun for hunting, just don't try to extend the effective range by hot-rodding the rounds, stick to factory/SAMMI spec ammo and your gun will thank you.

For anyone pre-disposed to hotrod, a 92 action is a far better choice.

Will be using factory loads or BP loads for it.I got it from the gun dealer in NB.I lucked out it came in the same day as I asked about one, took them18 moths to get it in.

There's one in the EE for sale, albeit expensive.

The Winchester Miroku's are beautiful rifles.

The only problem as most of you have stated is getting your hands on one in any of the models. Winchester really needs to get it's act together and make them more readily available. Waiting for a rifle which is a shot show special 2015 and recieving it summer 2016 is inexcusable in my opinion.

EXCELLENT ADVICE!!! The topic covered well!!!!!

I just handled one at Ramakko's in Sudbury about an hour ago. Gorgeous rifle. It's still there. Expensive though. I think it was close to $1900.

This^^^ The 1873 actioned rifles are best kept within 13,000-15,000 psi. for overall reliability. I stuck to this
regimen with my Miroku/Win '73 and had no issues with 'er. I did not put any regular factory .357's through mine, as they run upwards of 40,000 psi.

1873..Load mild. 1892..Pound 'em.:d
