Misadvertising in ammo sales

I am sure many of you have encountered ammo advertised as made by certain manufacturer....only to find out that it is not when it shows up at your door step. More importantly, you would expect the staff of the company to admit they made a mistake. My recent experience was far from that. A 7.62x54 ammo was advertised as an S&B( Seller and Bellot) packed ammo by a supposedly reputable company. When it reached me it turned out to be Chinese "61" factory ammo. My complaint was answered in a manner you would expect to encounter at a flea market: Oh, didn't you see our emphasis on PACKED? Yeah, the ammo is only packed by S&B, but it's not made by them.....in other words, it's your own damn fault.

Has anyone had a similar experience when ordering ammo online? And how do you deal with that?

Leaving a bad review on the company site is not gonna help since they can always edit it.

I hate to say it but its fairly common with Chinese ammo being repacked by CZ or S&B, even my local Canadian Tire sells this ammo and advertises it as S&B

No, the boxes don't say nothing on them. Besides, from what I know, Chinese is not as accurate and reliable as the actual S&B

Could you pm me the link? I don't want this to turn into a "complaining about a sponsor thread" that'll get locked, but I really am curious...

I see what you mean now. In does say it's packed by S&B, but it also says corrosive and surplus right in the title. Then there's the additional info... I could easily see how someone could misinterpret that. If they left out the additional info part, it would reduce confusion. I would have put that as China, not S&B. I just can't see it being a deliberate misrepresentation on their part. Maybe a case of musthaveammonowatgoodpriceitis?

It does clearly say in the additional info that the manufacturer is S&B...but, what's more important, even after my complaint the company still has not edited the add to prevent others from making the same mistake. That, and the reply they send me is an indication of lack of respect for their customers.

I'm curious about the pricing, if they charged you premium then yes rant on but if it's in line with most bulk corrosive then lesson learned and move on is all I can say... Also go to the range and blow of some steam

I'm not sure how much time has passed since you mentioned it to them, but they may not be able to make the changes as quick as we like.

Thanks for advise, Chef...Price was higher than what Chinese stuff goes for...but that's not the point. At least others will know what they are dealing with
