Misfire on one of the triggers

Hello,
Recently I bought my first shotgun (20ga SxS). After taking it to the range few times, I have realized that whenever I use the left barrel I get a lot of misfires (one in every 3-5 shots). The right barrel is OK.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is this something I could fix myself, or should I take it to the gunsmith?
Thanks for help.

This may be due to a variety of reasons and as stated by Grouse Man -providing specifics on the firearm itself will be a great assist in terms of narrowing down the problem.

For example - a common issue may be......if that sxs is equipped with a single trigger (the subject heading seems to suggest otherwise) that resets itself based on the principles of inertia - in other words, the subsequent shot(s) may fail to discharge simply due to the fact that the shotgun wasn't shouldered properly thus failing to reset the trigger upon that first shot.

Sorry, I should have provided this information in the original msg.
Make/Model: Unknown (It says Made In Hungary on it, that is all) It has 20 ga, 3" chamber.
It is SxS with 2 triggers. Misfires occur only on the back trigger.
When I break the action, both pins stay back.
When misfire occurs, I can hear the click and there is a small dent on the base of the shell. Firing the same shell again in the right chamber works.
It seems like the pin is hitting the shell, but without enough force .... if that makes any sense.

Thanks again for all your help.

the firing pin is obviously not steiking the primer hard enough. there could be a build up of crud and dirt on the inside thats stopping the pin from coming forward enough. you may also have a worn or broken firing pin. i would take it to my local gunsmith to see if it needs to be replaced.taking a sxs apart and putting it back together again can be a chore if your not familiar with them.
