Well, okay. For a while I couldn't walk around, talk, or chew, much less hold a rifle, but yesterday I managed a trip to SRC.
I blew through a total of forty rounds of Eley .22LR target in the space of an hour. No signs of misfiring. Used the same rifle (single shot, bolt-action, no magazine). None of the hangfires, squib-loads, or anything. No misfires at all, the trigger broke and gun fired just like that, no more hearing the firing pin fall and then the little pop. No more 'punph!' sounds or anything. Each round ejected easily, no worries.
I'm not so sure what to think now. What do you suppose caused all those hangfires and squibs three weeks ago?
- Dave.
