misfires

Hi guys, I was at the range yesterday with some guests and I was having a lot of misfires with my single shot anschutz (cil) 22. I was using cheapo remington thunderbolt ammo and about every third or fourth shot on average would just click. It was then significantly harder to pull back the bolt. I checked the misfired ammo against one of the ones that fired and the pin seems to be striking in the correct position and with the same force, but for some reason just not firing. I was noticing a lot of smoke in the barrel (which I was blowing out between shots) and a lot of residue. Has anyone had similar problems with this ammo? I'm going to try something different next time I go out, but in case that's not the problem I'd appreciate any advice anyone can offer.

Thanks

I once had a brick of rem. target .22s and every second shot would hit half way to the target, the others were o.k.!

The rem targets are a super light load, ive never seen an auto even come close to cycling those...horribly underpowered for anything, you'd be better off throwing them at the target..

I had major problems with Thunderbolts before... quite possibly the worst .22lr ammo ever used (my experience). Seemed like every third shot was a dud.

Anyway, other brands (of cheap ammo) are better, but still give the odd dud.

I've decided to pay the money and I now only buy CCI Mini-Mags. I've yet to have a dud :)

Good luck!

rem target cycles my 1022 perfectly, already shoot 2 bricks and no one misfire or some king of failure. maybe you got your ammo in a bad lot.
