With 50 benches covered and 20 competitors, it can only be called successful.
The seven trophies were present for Unlimited Bench Rest, Hunting Rifle, Semi-Auto, 17 HMR, Precision Rimfire Series, 200 Metre and Youth.
The sun was out, temperature was around 20 and there was some wind.

At 200 Metres there was 180 degree changes in the wind and some mirage but this target was shot as quickly as possible with an Anschutz 1710 HB using Eley Tenex. 1.71"

The smokies and moose chili for lunch were a welcome treat :)

Mel took home 3 golds. The top 5 in the 100m Unlimited Benchrest relay were only separated by a spread of 6 points. Winner required a tie breaker on X's.

Some great shooting all around!

Sounds like a lot of fun for the shooters...

An 11 shot group? What with that?

I guess it was missed . . . should have lost an X . . . good thing I did not score it!

It was at the end of the day. Set up at 8:00, shooting started at 9:00 and the presentations started at 5:00.

The targets on both sides, #10 and #12 both had 10 shots

It was a lot of fun.

The invitation is extended to everyone but I am not aware of anyone else shooting anything similar.
It is a carryover from Bob Goehring's BR50 which he advertised at Provincial Championships.
Currently fromRichmond, North Van, to Chilliwack. Since that encompasses 80% of BC's population . . . LOL.
There have been a few threatening to come to our monthly match but they are conspicuous by their absence.

The top three IIRC
Unlimited BR: Rem 40XB and two Anschutz
Hunting Rifle: Anschutz 1710 and two CZ's
Semi Auto: Volquartsen and two 10/22's
PRS: two CZ's and a Vudoo
17 HMR: Anschutz and a Cooper
200 M.: two Anschutz and a CZ

Those are the top three in each category.

With good shooters using good rifles, ammo selection is the most important difference.

Here are the scores:

Semi-auto relay probably had the worst luck for wind on an otherwise calm and sunny day. Quite often seeing 180 wind shifts from flag to flag. Challenging and I think the scores for that relay reflect it.

I was shooting the last of my lot-tested eley match to get my 4th, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. I know the PRS winner used lot-tested center-x and used lot-tested tenex for 200m. From what I saw eley match, eley tenex, and lapua center-x were the most commonly used ammo at this event. A few guys were shooting SK for semi-auto.

It would be nice if it was easier to lot test here in Canada or in BC. Most LGS's bring in 20-30 boxes of any given lot at a time and usually at most 2 lots... once you try a couple boxes there are only 10-15 left when you go back if you are lucky. Going through 2-3 boxes per monthly match so it gets eaten up quickly.
