Hi there, I could use some sage advice, from those smarter than I am, which is all of you...
I recently (like tonight) bought a Primary Arms SLX 3-18x50 FFP Illuminated scope. I bought it for a particular rifle, but am toying with a different idea, so maybe you all can give me some advice.
I also recently bought a Leupold VX Freedom 4-12x40 Creedmoor. That thing is currently on my Savage Axis 2 Precision rifle. I haven't taken it out yet, but plan to do so this weekend to the range.
I am a sucker for sales and got the PA SLX at a good price. I was looking for an optic for my MRA Renegade, and was looking for a cheaper red dot solution but I don't really think it makes sense for me to put a red dot on a straight pull. So found the SLX and ordered it for the Renegade.
While eating dinner I started thinking maybe it is a better idea for me to do the old switcheroo and put the PA SLX on the Savage Precision rifle and throw the Leupold on the Renegade. My rationale is that the precision rifle is designed to shoot at greater distances, so maybe the 3-18x scope is more suitable and the illuminated reticle may help too.
Do any of you have the SLX? If so, any suggestions on which gun is the better one to mount the SLX? The other gun will then get (or keep) the Leupold.
