mixed up some parts today ... Colt and Norinco

While cleaning borrowed rifles, I mixed up the breechblock carriers of a Colt AR and a Norinco ripoff AR. {Smack forehead and wince}

Both fit and function in each rifle. What are the distinguishing markings on Colt products? One of the two bolts is stamped MPC, and the other has a series of numbers stamped on the top front edge, under the bolt key. Otherwise they look sanitized.

MPC is Colt.

The Colt carrier should have a C on the left side below the key.
