Mk23 vs. USP Tactical

I guess it depends on what you want...the Mark 23 is a big, heavy, specialized gun. Holster choice is limited to tactical drop-leg stuff. The USP Tactical is a great all around pistol, suitable for IDPA, etc. I've got a friend who shoots one. Pick one that suits your style. But, IMHO the Mark 23 is overbuilt, and overpriced, for a civilian user. Unless you just have to have a "SOCOM" pistol. But then I'd want the suppressor and aiming module, too.

I've had both...and now only have the Mark23.
It's a gun that EVERYONE shoots well...the size and grip are a matter of personal taste...(Yum!)
There isn't anything wrong with the Tactical..it just doesn't have the 'pizzaz' of the larger unit...
OK, so why did I just buy (and have fallen in love with) the new Tactical Compact....I guess 'cause it's the opposite of the 23...smaller, lighter, handier..
Nobody says your choices have to be logical or make any sense!;)

I have the mark 23 and played with the Tatical I love my Mark 23 everybody can shoot this gun well. Honestly I have never pulled a gun out of the box and shot it that well on the first go and I have had many STI's and stuff I say if you can afford to spend the extra coin then do it! Now! cause I heard they are going to stop making the Mark 23 for civilains!!

They are different guns, based on different platforms, so it is hard to compare. The Tac has a wider range of features. The Mk 23 is bigger (which is better for some) and it is supposedly more inherently accurate and reliable. You should handle or shoot a Mk 23 before buying. It is not for everyone.
